(Headquarters: Tachikawa city, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Kazuyuki Shimizu; hereinafter “KOTOBUKIYA”) toward business collaboration (hereinafter “Business Collaboration”) today as follows.


■ Reason for the Business Collaboration
The Company has set the aspiration of “More fun for your days” and aims to become “the World’s No.1 Entertainment Company” in 2040. Our growth strategy is to achieve “Continuous Transformational Growth” through M&A in the entertainment industry, and we operate our business in two segments: “Entertainment Platform Business,” which operates amusement arcades and karaoke facilities, etc., and “Entertainment Contents Business,” which handles the upstream areas of entertainment such as IP (Intellectual Property).
On the other hand, starting as a retail business, KOTOBUKIYA is a long-established company with a 73-year history in the hobby industry; currently, it has achieved growth through global expansion, centered on its manufacturer business where it handles the integrated manufacture and sale of figures and plastic models. In particular, its strength lies in placing IP at the core of its strategy. By managing everything from the creation of original IP to multi-faceted development and promotion – including plastic models, figures, anime, games, comics, and merchandise – it excels at driving widespread recognition and growth for its IP. In the plastic model industry in particular, it has contributed to the growth of the entire sector as a leading company that pioneered the new market for “character-based girl (Bishoujo) plastic models.”
The objective of the Business Collaboration is to combine the management resources of both companies to solidify our competitive advantage in the global market. Building upon the foundation of trust established through our past collaborations, we will maximize the synergy between KOTOBUKIYA’s IP creation and manufacturing capabilities and GENDA’s platform expansion strengths. Through this, we will steadily promote the sustainable enhancement of enterprise value and the expansion of our global presence.
■ Details of the Business Collaboration
(1) Acceleration of overseas development based on the global platform
By integrating the amusement arcades GENDA has developed with KOTOBUKIYA’s IP and product manufacturing capabilities, we will strengthen our business foundation in the global market. Specifically, we will utilize GENDA’s entertainment platforms spanning North America, Europe, and Asia as distribution channels to roll out KOTOBUKIYA’s products and host live events. Through these initiatives, we aim to enhance the presence of Japanese IP in local markets and maximize revenue opportunities on a global scale.
(2) Maximize IP value through cross-business portfolio collaboration
In addition to our existing “shop-in-shop” collaborations within the amusement domain, we will expand our partnership across our entire diversified business portfolio, including karaoke and F&B (Food & Beverage). By comprehensively leveraging these physical touchpoints, we aim to increase LTV (Lifetime Value) throughout the entire fan lifecycle. Furthermore, by GENDA serving as a “physical domain platformer” for promotion and experience-based services during the media-mix phase of IP creation, we will build a collaborative ecosystem designed to maximize the asset value of our IPs.
