GENDA Inc. (Headquarters: Ota-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and Chairman of the Board: Nao Kataoka, Representative Director and President: Mai Shin, hereinafter “GENDA”) announced that it has reached a capital alliance agreement with Dynamo Amusement, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Naoki Ogawa, hereinafter “Dynamo Amusement”), which develops VR attractions, with the aim of deepening cooperation in the entertainment business. On October 22, GENDA will carry out a third-party allocation capital increase, and Dynamo Amusement will become its equity-method affiliate subsidiary.
Deal overview
In order to achieve GENDA’s Aspiration of “Make Everyone’s Life More Enjoyable”, it aims to build a global entertainment network and increase the “total volume of fun” prevailing in the world. Currently, it operates 197 stores including amusement arcades under SEGA brand. In addition, it also engages in amusement machine leasing, online crane games, sales promotion, and operations in China and the US.
Dynamo Amusement was established on October 1, 2021, succeeding the attraction business of Dynamo Pictures, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Hiroshi Hirokawa). Currently, it is engaged in the planning, production, and sales of various contents based on videos, such as location entertainment, experiential theater attractions, VR attractions, and interactive games. It has excellent technical capabilities, including handling the majority of MX4D® programs for films released in Japan and offering an exceptional sensory movie-watching experience.
By deepening the collaboration with Dynamo Amusement, GENDA aims to provide new and unparalleled entertainment experiences beyond its existing businesses.
