GENDA Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and Chairman of the Board: Nao Kataoka; Representative Director and President: Mai Shin; hereinafter “GENDA”) has resolved at a meeting of its Board of Directors held today to acquire 78.59% of the issued shares (excluding treasury shares) of Shin Corporation Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shinji Kato; hereinafter “Shin Corporation”) a company that operates karaoke facilities, etc at a meeting of the Board of Directors held today.

Shin Corporation operates 372 karaoke boxes ‘Karaoke BanBan’ shops nationwide, and its karaoke outlets were the first in the industry to introduce a ‘soft drink bar’ at karaoke outlets, which is now a rarity, and to set up “kids’ spaces” in areas where children are often accompanied by their parents. The company’s strength lies in its ability to provide highly customer-oriented services.

With the inclusion of Shin Corporation in the Group, it will also be possible to strengthen the ability to open new stores through ‘amusement arcade x karaoke’. For example, by linking up with the opening of amusement arcades such as operated by GENDA GiGO Entertainment, a GENDA Inc. group company that plays the central role in the Entertainment Platform Business, it will be possible to combine amusement arcades and karaoke, which have a high affinity in the entertainment field, in the same building (for example, amusement arcades on the lower floors, karaoke shops on the upper floors, etc.), the synergy between amusement arcades and karaoke venues is expected to enhance the ability of both venues to attract more customers.
In addition, by sharing the know-how (staff recruitment, staffing, training, etc.) that the Group has developed through the operation of “GiGO” and Shin Corporation through the operation of “Karaoke BanBan”, the high service quality of the staff at the core of the shop operation business will be ensured. This will ensure high service quality for the staff at the heart of the store operation business and improve the quality of operations.
